Scholarships

The NCRAR is pleased to announce that it will award scholarships to provide registration for the conference. Up to five scholarships will be awarded to practicing clinicians and up to ten scholarships to students in field related to the conference topic. At least three of these scholarships will be reserved for individuals from a background that is under-represented in auditory and balance research and/or healthcare.

Since this conference is fully virtual, the scholarships will cover the conference registration fee.

Eligibility

Any practicing clinician that contributes to auditory or balance health, and any student currently enrolled in a program of study that is related to the conference topic can apply for a scholarship. Individuals from historically under-represented groups in auditory and balance research and/or healthcare are particularly encouraged to apply, as are VA employees and Veterans.

Application Requirements

Application for a scholarship will require submission of an essay of up to 1200 words explaining what you hope to gain from attending this meeting. If you have experience with virtual care delivery, whether through clinical care provision or research, we would like to hear about it in your essay. Note: A lack of experience with virtual care delivery will not preclude you from receiving a scholarship.
Scholarship applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a poster for presentation during the poster session. Submission of a poster abstract will be considered when selecting scholarship winners.

Selection Criteria
  1. Up to 5 scholarships will only be awarded to practicing clinicians and 10 to students engaged in auditory or balance health.
  2. At least 3 scholarships will be reserved for individuals from a minority group, including those with a disability.
  3. VA employees and Veterans will be given priority.
  4. The conference organizers will be responsible for selecting the winners. Their decisions are final.

Complete applications must be received by July 31, 2023. You will be informed as to whether you were selected by August 7, 2023. At that time, instructions about student events at the conference will be shared with those applying as students. **If you have registered for the conference prior to being awarded a scholarship, your registration fee will be refunded.
