September 29-October 1, 2021

Link to Conference Schedule

This conference explored causation, diagnosis, and treatment of vestibular disorders.

This 3-day conference brought together basic and translational scientists, audiologists, physicians, other allied clinical professionals and patient stakeholders—to collaboratively discuss strategies for optimizing auditory or vestibular health function and rehabilitation outcomes in patients with balance problems. The teaching and learning focused on three themes: The mechanisms and causes of vestibular loss (Day 1); diagnostic techniques and measures for patient evaluation, with an emphasis on recent advances as well as promising future techniques (Day 2); and contemporary treatments for imbalance, including novel noninvasive and invasive technologies (Day 3). This conference contributes to our overarching goal of enhancing hearing and balance healthcare for all people through a session on developing a diverse, equitable and inclusive research and clinical workforce in communication disorders and sciences.
