  • This course provides information on the interpretation of case history information and test results, and guides DoD and VA audiologists in discussing the complexities of hearing health with patients experiencing subjective communication issues in the presence of background noise. Recommendations and additional referral considerations are discussed in detail.
Treatment Options for Auditory Processing Disorders (by: Melissa Kokx-Ryan, AuD, PhD and Elizabeth Haley, AuD)
  • This course provides a discussion of current treatment options for auditory processing within the DoD and VA military health care systems. A review of relevant research is provided to support implementation.
Clinical Management of Auditory Processing Disorders: Mediating, Moderating, and Confounding Factors (by: Lisa Guillory, AuD; Melissa Papesh, AuD, PhD)
  • This course explores strategies to identify peripheral versus central cognitive factors that may contribute to auditory processing deficits, or complicate assessment and treatment of auditory processing dysfunction. Information includes strategies to reduce the influence of higher cognitive dysfunction, and avoid possible confounds associated with peripheral hearing loss.
