Prevalence of hearing loss: Best estimates of the occurrence of hearing loss among post 9-11 Veterans are between 13% and 29% (Frayne et al; Swan et al; Henry et al). Recently, an epidemiologic study being conducted at the NCRAR found an association between hearing loss and poor functional health among a sample of post-9/11 Veterans (Lewis et al, submitted for publication).
